Our Services

Accident Insurance

Accidents… you can’t plan on them, but you can plan for them. We offer Off-the-Job or 24-hour care plans for helping individuals and their families in case of a covered accident. No one can predict when an accident will happen, and the financial consequences can be overwhelming. In addition to the costs associated with medical treatment, there are unforeseen costs that most people don’t anticipate, for example…

  • Transportation, lodging, and food bills associated with traveling for treatment.
  • Childcare and household help,
  • Continuing expenses such as groceries, car payments, mortgage or rent, and utility bills.

How Can We Help?

We can help make financial obligations easier if you or a family member suffers an accidental injury. Our accident insurance pays cash benefits to help with expenses that may not be covered by your major medical insurance. We even offer 24-hour or off-the-job coverage.

  • Our plans pay benefits for a range of services including…
  • Hospital confinement, emergency room/urgent care and doctor’s office visits.
  • ICU confinement, ambulance, blood and plasma.
  • Surgical expenses.
  • Accidental death and dismemberment.
  • Fractures, dislocations and burns.
  • Physical therapy.

Cancer Insurance

Have you done everything you can to protect yourself or your loved ones in the event of cancer? Choose one of four complete benefit packages to help with the direct and indirect medical costs of cancer. Cancer can strike anyone, anywhere, at any time. Cancer is the second most common cause of death in the US, exceeded only by heart disease, accounting for nearly 1 of every 4 deaths*. In the U.S., men have about a 1 in 2 lifetime risk of developing cancer, and for women the risk is a little more than 1 in 3. A cancer diagnosis can be a life-changing event, and cancer treatment may result in expenses beyond medical care that you never even anticipated, for example…

  • Transportation, lodging, and food bills associated with traveling for treatment.
  • Childcare and household help,
  • Continuing expenses such as groceries, car payments, mortgage or rent, and utility bills.

Your regular expenses continue whether or not you are able to work. If a family member has to stop working to take care of you, the loss of income may be doubled. The American Cancer Society estimates the following new cancer cases in 2012*:

  • 1,638,910 total new diagnoses
  • 226,870 of invasive breast cancer among women
  • 226,160 of lung cancer
  • 241,740 of prostate cancer
  • 12,060 among children aged 0 to 14 years

ADVANCES IN CANCER PREVENTION AND TREATMENT

The good news is certain changes in behavior, for example quitting smoking, eliminating heavy drinking; eating a healthy diet and being physically active may help prevent cancer completely. Other factors, such as inherited conditions, however, may make you more susceptible to cancer.
More people who are diagnosed with cancer are surviving. The 5-year relative survival rate for all cancers diagnosed between 2001 and 2007 is 67%, up from 49% in 1975-1977. This is directly due to earlier detection and improvements in treatment.

How Can We Help?

Our cancer insurance policies can provide you and your family members with peace of mind by paying cash benefits to help cover expenses that aren’t covered by your major medical insurance.

If you are diagnosed with cancer, we pay an initial diagnosis benefit which can help protect you and your family from financial hardship. We pay benefits directly to you, unless assigned. You use the cash however you decide.

In addition, our cancer insurance will continue to pay benefits when you begin cancer treatment. Cash benefits are paid if you receive the following services:

  • Hospital confinement, physician’s attendance and nursing services.
  • Radiation, chemotherapy and immunotherapy.
  • Bone marrow transplant and surgical services.
  • Airfare, hotel, and mileage.
  • Ambulance, blood and plasma.

How Can We Help?

Medicare Supplement

Medicare supplemental insurance and Medigap policies help you with medical expenses and costs not covered by Medicare.

Medicare was never meant to cover all of your doctor and hospital bills. Many people do not realize this and expect it to pay all. Reliance on Medicare in this situation can mean financial difficulty with out-of-pocket expenses.

Medicare was not designed to cover all of your doctor and hospital bills and, without supplemental insurance, the costs of health care can get out of hand. The companies of Manhattan Insurance Group offer a number of different Medicare Supplement policies to help cover some of the costs that Medicare alone does not.

Medicare Supplement policies help cover costs such as coinsurance, copayments and deductibles. With a Medicare Supplement policy, you can keep your out-of-pocket expenses for healthcare down so you can maintain predictable monthly costs and avoid financial difficulty.

When you enroll in a Medicare Supplement policy, you can usually keep your doctors and hospitals and you retain all of your Medicare rights and protections. Take a look at the Medicare Supplement products we provide and find one that fits your budget and needs today.

If you are 65 or older; under 65 with certain disabilities; or any age with End-Stage Renal Disease, you qualify for Medicare. Medicare and Medicare Supplement policies are divided into standardized plans that offer the same coverage, despite the provider. Medicare alone covers only Part A and Part B:

  • Part A (Hospital Insurance) helps cover inpatient care in hospitals as well as skilled nursing facilities, hospice, and home health care.
  • Part B (Medical Insurance) helps cover doctors’ and other health care providers’ services, hospital outpatient care, durable medical equipment, and home health care as well as preventive services to help maintain your health and to keep certain illnesses from getting worse.

Medicare Supplement insurance is often referred to as Medigap because it fills the gaps in coverage that are left by Medicare. For example, if you would like supplemental coverage for hospitalization costs, you can purchase a supplemental plan that provides extra benefits for hospitalization.

Medicare Supplement policies are standardized and regulated by the federal and some state governments, so searching for one is simple. When you shop for Medicare Supplement coverage, remember that the benefits for each policy are the same regardless of which company you select. The only difference will be the prices you pay for each policy as well as how a company determines rate increases.

Medicare and Medicare Supplement plans only cover one person, so you can choose the plan that fits the exact specifications you require.
